[email protected] cleverly combines the best of Rotorua, from the stunning hilltop perch atop Mount Ngongotaha with 180-degree views of twinkling city lights, through to the locally sourced seafood, meat and produce. Incredible service rounds out an a la carte dining experience that lingers on in your heart long after the cheese and port have finished.

Wine Tasting

Relax with a glass of wine, something to eat and soak up the view. The tasting room is set up so you can pop in and experience the wines, as well as take a few bottles home if you like. During the tasting, Volcanic Hills staff won’t try to tell you what’s going on in your brain while you drink wine. They’ll have a chat about the tasting with you, as they understand that everyone’s relationship with wine is different.

Option 1: Taste all five Volcanic Hills wines (30-45 mins).

Option 2:  Choose three wines to taste (15-30 mins).

The Volcanic Hills range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Blanc de Blanc, Syrah, Pinot Noir and a seasonal Rosé. The grapes are sourced from New Zealand's premium wine-growing regions of Marlborough, Central Otago, and Hawkes Bay, and crafted onsite in the Winery at the base of Skyline Rotorua.

About Volcanic Hills

After years of working for one of New Zealand's most prominent wine brands as well as numerous overseas vintages in Australia, United States of America, France and South Africa, it was time to develop our own iconic range.

The Volcanic Hills brand was launched in 2009, with the Tasting Room opened at Skyline Rotorua in 2012, and the Winery in time for the 2013 winemaking vintage.
