  • Gondola

    • Opened in 1985
    • Ride an eight-seater Gondola up Mount Ngongotaha with unsurpassed views of Rotorua and its surroundings.
    • The gondola is on a 900 metre long Doppelmayr cableway system
  • Luge

    • The world famous Luge opened in 1985 and is one of Rotorua’s most popular attractions.
    • Part go-cart, part toboggan, ride the Rotorua Luge though beautiful forest on one of three exciting trails.
    • There are three trails: Scenic (you must complete this one first), Intermediate or Advanced
    • Over 4km of Luge tracks on Mt Ngongotaha through Redwood forest and with views of Lake Rotorua
    • The three wheeled Luge carts are gravity fuelled and the rider has full control over speed and direction using a unique braking and steering system. Pull back on the bars to stop, push forward to go and enjoy the ride.
    • Ideal for any age and small children can ride with adults.
    • Scenic chairlift ride back to the top of the trail.
    • Skyline Rotorua continues to lead the Luge technology - all components are designed and manufactured in Rotorua and then shipped around the world to other Luge locations.
    • The Luge is also in Queenstown, New Zealand; Mount Tremblant and Calgary, Canada; and Sentosa, Singapore.
  • Skyswing

    • Opened in 2000
    • Three seated skyswing hoists you 50m into the air
    • Hanging from your harness, pull the release to make the drop at up to 150kph
    • Child age is 5- 14 years inclusive. Need to be above 110cm in height
    • Three riders need a maximum swing weight of 350kg
    • Open daily from 9.30am to 8.00pm (seasonal)
  • Zoom Ziplines

    • Opened in April 2014
    • Descends 385 metres down the side of Mt Ngongotaha, dropping a total of 48 vertical metres.
    • Zip through the air at up to 80km/h, through the Redwoods Forest.
    • Finish on a platform by the luge chairlift
    • Take a leap of faith and jump off the gangplank for a 10m freefall on the Quickjump. The Quickjump sees you harnessed to a single line and freefalling, before a special braking system ensures a soft landing.  
    • Suitable for children and adults
    • The innovative zipline system is operated by Canadian company Zoom Ziplines in partnership with Skyline Rotorua
    • Minimum weight 27kg, maximum weight 125kg.
    • Child age is 5-14 years inclusive.
    • Open daily from 9.30am to 5pm. 
  • Mountain biking: Skyline Rotorua MTB Gravity Park

    • Opened in August 2014
    • NZ’s first year round gondola assisted bike lift, accessing world-class downhill mountain biking
    • Host location of the world’s largest mountain biking event, Crankworx Rotorua, with custom built Downhill, Dual Speed and Style, Slopestyle and Pump Track courses for the world’s best riders.
    • Skyline has 11 dedicated gondolas that can each take four riders and their bikes to where the trails start, taking the hard work out the park’s 200-metre vertical rise
    • Allows for 3,000 runs a day overall, riders have done up to 40 runs in a day.
    • 10km trail network with varying terrain for all ability levels
    • Trails include Simple Jack (Grade 2), Daywalker (Grade 3), Hipster (Grade 4), Sprint Warrior, Moss Piglet and Ten Fifty One (Grade 5).
    • Trails include multi-grade features, a 300m jumps section, and international-grade slope style and downhill lines
    • The mountain bike Park has full time patrollers, all trained to pre-hospital first aid levels.
    • Pass options: half day, full day, three day, three month, half year, full year or 10 x Anytime.
    • Morning Passes are from 9am – 1pm, Afternoon passes from 1pm – 5pm.
  • Stratosfare Restaurant and Bar

    • $2 million renovation launched in November 2014
    • The A’ la buffet experience - includes kitchen theatre, marketplace feel and cooked-to-order options, encouraging diners to have a little bit of everything
    • Diners can pick their own prime cuts of meat sourced from Mangatu farms in Gisborne and aged to perfection on site, which Skyline’s chef will then cook live - choose from venison, lamb, fresh fish, prawns, crayfish and morton bay bugs.
    • Dessert includes a vast selection of classics, with chefs preparing fresh crepes on the spot
    • The contemporary ambience features luxurious Italian marble, granite, schist stonework, timber and David Trubridge lights
    • Bar is the perfect venue for parties, conferences or special events.
    • Stratosfare is open Monday to Sunday for lunch beginning at 11.30am and dinner commencing from 5.30pm.
  • Market Kitchen Cafe

    • $450,000 renovation in 2013
    • Spacious indoor dining as well as an outdoor area with expansive views over Rotorua
    • Features a pizzeria, icecream parlour, tandoor oven, freshly baked foods, tapas, sushi, great coffee and more
    • Friendly and casual atmosphere serving the best of international and kiwiana cuisine
  • Jelly Belly Concept Store and Gallery

    • Opened in July 2012
    • 100 different flavoured jelly beans, pick’n’mix options and gift packs
    • Bean boozled: only for the daring, spin the wheel to select one of 16 beans. One is a delicious flavour, the other will leave a horrid taste in your mouth, but you don’t know which is which until it is too late!
    • Jelly Bean artworks feature on the wall including Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, recreated using 17,000 jelly beans.
  • Volcanic Hills Winery and Tasting Room

    • Established by winemakers Brent Park and Sean Beer in 2012
    • The Volcanic Hills name depicts the landscape of the beautiful North Island Central Plateau, including the iconic peaks of Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro
    • The wine is made with grapes from all the best spots around NZ. Wines include: Volcanic Hills Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay and Central Otago Pinot Noir.
    • Learn how wine is made and explore the winery before taking the gondola up to sample the handcrafted wines.
