Friday the 13th offers a murder mystery dinner
Increasing their support of the LQWF, iconic Queenstown venue, Skyline Gondola, Restaurant & Luge, a partner sponsor of the festival are launching a new event to add to the various evenings of entertainment.
A murder mystery dinner will be held at Skyline, the theme is set within a high school so guests are encouraged to drag out their school uniforms to help set the scene.
The ‘High School Murder Mystery Dinner and Disco’ is to be held on Thursday 28 June and continues the annual programme of special events that Skyline are developing.
Tickets for the murder mystery event strangely enough go on sale from Friday the 13th, a “planned coincidence” says ex festival manager Leigh Jeffery, from The Brand Movement, who have been employed by Skyline to plan and deliver the event.
Leigh says, “it’s great to be involved with the festival again and to work with a key festival sponsor to create a new and exciting event for the calendar. It just seemed like the perfect choice to start selling tickets on such a superstitious day”
Blair Deasy, Manager of Skyline Gondola Restaurant and Luge, is looking forward to hosting this evening of mystery and is also excited about increasing his support of the Lindauer Queenstown Winter festival.
“The murder mystery concept will be a first for the festival calendar and promises to be entertaining as well as interactive for the guests. Following on the high school theme the night will be complete with a retro style disco that’s bound to bring back classic memories from your high school days”, said Blair.
Guests are encouraged to get a group of 10 friends together so they can buy a table in the school dining hall for the evening. How to play the murder mystery game will be revealed to guests throughout the evening plus a pack of helpful information will be distributed to guests prior to the night.
“There will be some interesting characters involved in the evening as well”, revealed Blair, “but it will be up to each group of people to be a little cunning to prove their innocence and help reveal the criminals of the evening as the game is played out”
The evening will also consist of a 3 course dinner that is timed as part of the murder mystery entertainment.
A popular spot for visitors taking in Queenstown’s breathtaking vista, Skyline is a firm favourite with locals and is home to one of the winter festival’s most popular events, the Jazz Night.
“We are thrilled that one of our sponsors is bringing another key event to the festival programme and one that compliments the popular Jazz night we deliver each year”, says Sally Feinerman Festival Manager.
Tickets are competitively priced and will need to be purchased in tables of 10. Priced at $700 for a table of ten adults this will include a complimentary drink on arrival plus a 3 course dinner. Tickets are available from Friday 13 April from Skyline Gondola, Restaurant & Luge by calling 03 441 0851.
